Creating Your Own Templates: An Intermediate Guide

Want to create a template tailored to your specific meeting types? This guide will show you how to generate custom templates and refine them using Claras' AI assistance.

Before You Start

We recommend:
Trying the pre-built templates first
Understanding how template improvements work (see our Beginner's Guide to Templates)
Having a clear idea of what information you need to capture

Creating a New Template

Go to Templates in the menu
Click "New Template"
Fill in the following:
- Name: A clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Risk Insurance Deep Dive Meeting")
- Description: Describe what you want to capture in these meetings.
- Existing Template (Optional): If you have an existing template from Word/PDF, paste it here

Writing Good Instructions

Your description will help Claras understand how to structure your template. You might include:
- The purpose of the meeting
- Key information that must be captured
- The list of headings you expect to see
- Preferred formatting for particular sections (tables, bullet points, etc.)

Agendas

Once finished, we recommend using Claras to generate your agenda items. Simple navigate to the "Agenda" tab and select "Generate". These agenda items will be shown in future meetings as a useful guide - ensuring you cover everything required for your File Note.

Once generated, you can edit or add new items as required.
