Create File Notes from Audio and Video Meeting Recordings and Transcripts
Claras offers multiple ways to turn your client meetings into comprehensive, detailed file notes.
This guide will walk you through the process of creating a new file note using either an audio/video recording or a transcript.
Click the "New" button at the top of the File Notes page
You'll then see three options for providing your meeting information:
Audio or video recording
Transcript file
Paste text transcript
Let's explore each option in detail:
This option allows you to directly upload an audio or video file of your meeting.
Select your file or drag and drop it into the designated area
Select a client and file note template and click Submit
Claras will process the file and generate a transcript, file note and client email
If you already have a transcript file:
Click the "Transcript file" button
Upload your transcript file
Select a client and file note template and click Submit
Claras will process the file and prepare the file note and client email
Supported formats: TXT, DOC, DOCX, PDF
For transcripts you have in text form:
Click the "Paste text transcript" button
Paste your transcript into the provided text box
Select a client and file note template and click Submit
Claras will process the file and generate a transcript, file note and client email
What file types can I upload?
Any audio or video recording such as MP4, M4A, MP3. Teams, Zoom and meeting recorders allow you to export these formats.
Is there a limit on file size or length?
Yes, keep files under 5Gb.
How long does it take to convert a video recording into a transcription and a file note?
An hour long video takes under 5 minutes!
What languages does Claras support for transcription?
We currently only support English. Please reach out to support if you're interested in using Claras for other languages.
Can I edit the transcript after it's generated?
No, but you can edit the file note and client email. Alternatively, copy out the transcript, then edit and re-submit it to create a new file note.
What happens if the recording is unclear or has poor audio quality?
Refer to our help article on how to improve the quality of the audio in your meetings.
How secure are the uploaded files?
All uploads and processing occur within our secure, Australian-based infrastructure, ensuring the privacy and security of your client data.
Can I still add manual notes alongside the transcript?
Yes, you still have the ability to upload or paste in text transcripts. Use one of the three options available.
Does this feature cost extra?
No, it's included in your unlimited plan.
